[Palace] Five royal palaces in Seoul

There are five royal palaces in Seoul.


1. Gyeongbokgung Palace
Gyeongbokgung Palace is the first palace to have been built from among the five major palaces from the Joseon Dynasty(1392-1910).

2. Changdeokgung Palace 
Changdeokgung Palace was the second palace to be built after the construction of Gyeongbokgung Palace.

3. Changgyeonggung Palace
Changgyeonggung Palace was built by King Sejong in 1418 to honor the former King Taejong.

4. Deoksugung Palace
Gyeongungung was the original name of Deoksugung Palace, but it was changed to Deoksugung after King Gojong abdicated the crown to King Sunjong in 1907.

5. Gyeonghuigung Palace
 Gyeonghuigung Palace where the Footsteps of Kings can be sensed.
Since its opening to the general public in 2002, its old splendor is being restored by descendants in the 21st century.

There is a Daegu Chimac Festival happening this month from 18 - 22.


The term "Chimac" is a portmanteau of chicken and maekju.(meaning beer)

This Festival will take place at Duryu Park in Dalseo-gu, Daegu.
Daegu Chimac Festival celebrates chicken with beer and will include
music and cultural performances.
